St. Patrick's Day 2011

One of the reasons I love shopping at one of my favorite stores in New Jersey, is that no matter when you stop by, there's always a pleasant surprise--not only in the ecclectic merchandise, but the people you will find inside--particularly during each holiday season, as I've come to learn firsthand.  This portrait is of  man who entertained the shoppers by performing traditional Irish music.  His voice was smooth and tender and he captured the essence of timeless songs, filling each one with emotion, whether joyful or tearful.  And as a true entertainer, he adjusted his music to the audience--shoppers who wandered in--playing and singing songs appealing to young and old alike (even doing a song geared specifically for an 11-year-old boy who probably wanted to be doing anything but shopping!)                     May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and the road downhill all the way to your door.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
