Close-to-Home Scenery and Birds

                         Sticking close to home for these shots, I particularly like how the
                                     sun highlighted the treetops in the following image. 
                          The second photo shows evergreens growing on the mountainside.





You don't have to drive far to look for beautiful scenic shots or wild animals.  Sometimes what we seek is right in our own back yard!  I observed this Great Blue Heron, this red-headed woodpecker, and a pair of Belted Kingfishers at the exact same spot on the causeway as I took the above pictures.
