The other night as the sun was setting, we visited one of my favorite spots to see what was stirring about. Like they always do, a Blue Jay announced my arrival to the scene (very LOUDLY and repeatedly) as soon as it saw me. I followed it with my eyes for a few seconds, noting it's mate as well. As if sensing my intent, the male came and perched on the branch of a nearby tree so I could admire him more closely. At this point the sun was low enough not only to color everything with a golden crayon, but to add sparkle and shine to the feathers of this bird.
Blue Jays----- so LOUD and annoying and yet so beautiful
