Something intuitively made me stand behind her and focus--and to my utter amazement, she began to drop her eggs into the nest she just prepared! I watched her lay 6 eggs, carefully gently patting each one once they settled into the hole. Here is the process of a few eggs dropping that I managed to catch through my lens:
