Mesmerized by the antics around a bird feeder, I caught these birds in mid-flight.

Tree at Dusk
I was on an "owl prowl" on my friend's property this particular evening, scanning the scenery for the short, squared, stubby silhouette of a an owl my friend spotted the previous day, or to see a flapping of great wings... maybe a swoop... or perhaps hear just a few quiet hoots..... but.... nothing.
...except for this tree, defined by a smooth trio of colors from the setting sun.

A January Night Sky
I learned another meteor shower was in store--best viewed, of course, in the wee hours of the morning. No problem for me! I prepared for work which I'd be heading straight to after spending a few hours on our snowy neighborhood causeway, looking up at the night sky.
Disappointment from seeing a clouded sky blew away as I photographed things that stood out through the darkness. The lights of an airplane drew a line across the sky. Not a meteor, but spendid to catch anyway.
Moonlight reflecting off the snow created stark contrasts.
