Turn, Turn, Turn... A Focus on Fall

Temperatures drop.  Sweaters are donned.  Our natural world become richer in color.  As the season turns to autumn, more creatures of fall appear, like the Wooley Bear caterpillar and the Praying Mantis.  Early-morning walks along the lakes and rivers are accompanied by thick, swirling fog.  Frost bites your feet.  Beauty takes on colorful hues.

A Beaver Enjoys Breakfast!

I noticed this beaver--wait--this beaver noticed me probably first--, swam toward me, gave a few 'warning' slaps of it's tail, and entertained me for a while, while I sat on a stump near the pond.  After several minutes watching it, I decided to observe from a different perspective so I got up and walked away.  Glancing down another path, I noticed it swimming past and when I got to my new spot, I found the beaver enjoying it's breakfast!  I watched in fascination and awe.

I love how this bird is camouflaged so perfectly, flitting about it's surroundings.
